MATEUSZ aka MAX MORANIEC
Max was born 14 Sep 1841 in House #15 Bobrowa, Debica to Adelbert Moraniec and Margaretha Wojtovicz. This was the same house his father was born in, his grandfather lived in, and his children would come to life in as well. The midwife was Agnes Janora. The godparents were Martin Wojtovicz (possibly Margaretha’s brother) and Franciska Janora. They were all Catholic and tenant farmers.
Matheusz had 11 siblings: Marianna, Laurentius, Joseph, Hedwig, Anna, Pawel, Stanislau, Jan, Jacob, Eva and her twin, Catherina. As was typical of the times, Anna, Jan, and Eva died as children. We’d love to know what happened to these great-great grandaunts and uncles.
Max married Katarzyna Lipa on 4 Nov 1867 in Bobrowa. The witnesses were Casimir Ziobro and Jan Lipa (perhaps Katharzyna’s brother?). They had four children, Barbara, Adam, and Maria, though again, only son, Joseph survived to adulthood.
His father, Adelbert died at 56 years, in 1871 when Mateusz was 30 years old.
After Max’s wife (and Big Joe’s mother) Katharzyna died in 1872, at 32 years of age, Max married Antonina Dziedzick from House 42. The date was 10 Feb 1873.
He died at 62 years on 16 Jan 1904 in Bobrowa. The cause of death was asthma.
Antonina Dziedick Moraniec would go on at 58 years. of age to marry Stanislau Lipa.

Max’s sister Catherina is my Great-Great Grandmother. She married Bartholomew Lipa, the son of Joseph Lipa and Mary Janora. We don’t know much about the Polish side of the family. I’d love to talk to anyone about the family history!
