Andrej Łasecki

Karol Libelt House, Czeszewo, Poland2Andrej (Andreas, Andrew)  Łasecki was one of the eldest children of my 4th Great-Grandparents, Martin  Łasecki and Franciska Szymanska (sp Smyczonka on marriage record on Poznan Project). Born about 1820, in the Wagrowiec area.   He was a  day-laborer or a servant at various times. I surmise that since he moved so often, he owned next to nothing and was hired on an as-needed basis by the nobles in the area. The picture I drew in 2016, posted above, portrays the manor house of Polish philosopher and activist, Karol Libelt in Czeszewo. It is most likely that Andrej worked there. Interesting to note that the Libelt family emigrated at about the same time as the Laseckis.

( Unconfirned cousin), Bob Miks, learned through his research that the mansion was occupied by the Communists, who used it as an administrative headquarters after WW2.

First Marriage: ON 28 Nov 1848, when Andrej was 27, he married Agnes Wisniewski daughter of Thomas and Francisca Gerugi in Parish Kozielsko: Stepuchowo, Damaslawek, Wagrowiec. Witnesses were Casimier Sobierajski and Ignatius Frymarczak.

Andrej and Agnes had 2 children.

Nepomucena b.14 May 1848 in Niemczyn, Kozielsko, Wagrowiec and baptized 2 days later. She married  Theophilus Klepacki in Smogulec 1877.

Martin b. 30 Sep 1850 Niemczyn, baptized a week later in Kozielsko parish.

Agnes died 25 Mar 1852 in Redgosz. Andrej wasted no time.

Second Marriage: On the 9 May 1852, Andrej married Franciska Rozmarynowska in Czeszewo. Andrej, a widower, was 27 and Franciska 23 years old. The pastor was Adelbert Jankowski and the witnesses were Michael Mozynski and Tekla ?

They would have 7 children, 3 of whom were still alive in 1900.

Children of Francisca and Andrej:

Jan b. 1 Jun 1853, Niemczyn, Kozielsko, (Kozle) Wagrowiec, baptized 5 jun 1853 Kozielsko Catholic parish.

Marianna b.13 Jan 1855 Czeszewo,, Polan Married Albert Rybicki.

Mariannna’s marriage to Albert: 30 Sep 1876 Grylewo, Poland:

Michael b. 15 Aug 1860 Married Sophie Sobocinski.

Joseph and Josepha b. 22 feb 1863 Laskownica, Wagrowiec.

Antoni b. 11 May 1866 Grylewo, baptized 14 May Grylewo. Married Michalina Dych in Detroit.

Emigration: On the 19th of April 1882, Andrej, Francis, daughter Marianna, already married to Albert Rybicki, son Anthony (Leo’s great-great-great grampa), and an Emila arrived at the Port of Baltimore on the Hermann hailing from Bremen.

We lose track of Andrej in America and have not found his death, but he disappears from the records by 1888.

I have seen several of the names you have posted in the Grylewo records books. I was in SLC in Sept 2019 and copied all Grylewo films to a flashdrive. Wondered if your Łasecki family is related to mine. Some Lasecki names also appear in the Margonin parish.

    Willing to share information.
    Thank you!

    Lisa Stachowiak Morgan
