The name Biskup, which has many variants, Biskub being the most common in the records we searched, is a fairly common name in Poland. The name itself means BISHOP, so it could refer to one who works for the Bishop or one who  resembles the Bishop….

Our Biscups only go back to third great grandfather, Szymon, b. abt. 1811. Since we have not found his birth record yet, I cannot say where this birth took place, but he married Sophia in Lengowo-Tarnowo parish, he probably grew up not too far away.  If you would like to know something about the family descendants of Szymon and Sophia, please click their names.
