Lucy (Ludwika) Moraniec was born 5 Dec 1898 in Detroit Michigan, the 4th child of Big Joe Moraniec and his first wife, Jozefy (Garbaczyk) Moraniec. The family lived at 17 Otis Street at the time of the 1900 census. Her father, Joe was a naturalized citizen. He owned a home with a mortgage at 17 Otis Street in the 16th Ward of Detroit and was employed as a Day Laborer. The 1900 Detroit Directory lists Joe as a molder.
