The Biedroń family originated – as far as we have searched – in Glinik Polski, Podkarpackie, Wielpolska, Poland. When we visited the Tarnowiec Municipal Office in 2012, we found Biedrońs were still living in GP in the 1930s. For more on Glinik Polski, please read the Garbacik page.
According to Family Education, the name Biedroń derives from the Polish nickname for “spotted bull,” or from biedro which means “hip.” So, perhaps the lineage began with someone with conspicuous or deformed hips. I’m placing my money on a farmer who owned spotted bulls!
Furthermore, as I completed entering the births from the Glinik Polski Baptismal records, I found discrepancies that remain unsolved. The only way that I think this will get solved is when someone orders and reviews the Family History Films. Perhaps YOU are up to the challenge. I’d be happy to help you get started. If you have questions, contact me via gmail. Also, procuring the death certificate for Teresa Biedroń Moraniec would offer confirmation of her parents’ names as well as her birth date and place….maybe.
In the meanwhile, I am working on a biography of Teresa Biedron Moraniec, that will be published soon.
